Motor technologies With experience of Brushless Permanent Magnet, Induction Machines, Brushed DC and Switched Reluctance motors we can help guide you through the process of selecting an appropriate motor type for your application, whether using position sensing or not. Power supply technologies We can recommend the most suitable circuit topology for your application, and implement it using either analogue or digital control techniques as appropriate. Power Electronics With experience of designs from 1W to 100 kW, we can select the appropriate switch types, circuit topologies and thermal management techniques to suit your application. Microcontroller/DSPs We have in depth expertise in implementing control algorithms as well as general interfacing and various serial communications methods. We have had considerable success maximizing the functionality provided by low cost parts using a combination of C and assembler. We would recommend Microchip PIC® and dsPIC devices for most new designs. However we are happy to use the customers choice of controller and we have experience of a range of devices from different manufacturers. Digital & Analogue Design We have broad experience in this area including FPGA/PLD designs and general signal conditioning/interfacing Design for Product Safety & EMC compliance Whether for European or Worldwide markets we can help identify appropriate standards and design for compliance. Our EMC experience includes both active and passive power factor correction techniques. Electromagnetic design We can custom design high frequency transformers and inductors in order to optimize size, cost and performance. Modeling and simulation Where necessary we can derive appropriate models and simulate the behaviour of electromagnetic components, motors, actuators, power electronics devices and their control systems. |
